A New Painting: The Barn Owl

Over the summer holidays I wanted to finish a new painting. I was given a bunch of free canvases that came with my easel. I have had them for a number of years but findly decinded to try them out. I normally use acylic paper for my paintings, so this was a little different. This is the first painting on the canvases I was given.

My Painting Inspiration

My inspiration and reference for the painting came from the Barn Owl photographed above at Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre in Cumbria. Here I took some photos of their Barn Owl while visitting for a speical display event, which they showed off some of their birds. From this I decided use the one on the photo on the right as one of my reference images for my painting.
