Far Ings Nature Reserve

Today I went up next to the River Humber near Hull to look at birds from Far Ings Nature Reserve. Fars Ings is made up of wetland habitats such as Reedbed, Wet Grassland, many lakes and Mudflat next to the River Estuary.

What Was Out Today?

I started from the Visitors Centre and walked down the path next to the Humber Estuary. Here I was lucky to see my first Bearded Tits.

The reserve has 6 different hides where you can watch different wetland birds. A local favorite is Ness Hide. Here, I managed to see a Marsh Harrier.

A bit further on down the path is some scrubby shrubs, here I saw a few little woodland birds.

While walking back down the Humber Estuary I saw a few Wigeon and Redshank feeding in the mud. I also got a great view of the Humber Bridge.

I hope you enjoyed this little sightings blog of Far Ings. Hope to see you in the next blog of My Bird Watch, Thank you for reading.
