The sun was shinning and it had been forecast dry all day so whats more I went on a trip to Skegness. Not the usual stroll along the beach with and ice cream or fish and chips in hand but to Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve which is situated along the edge of Skegness's dynamic stretch of unspoilt coastline to the mouth of the Wash.
Gibraltar Point has a fantastic new visitors centre which has a viewing platform as well as a gift shop and a cafe. This is surrounded by different habitats such as beach, mudflats, saltmarsh, sand dunes and many lagoons which attach many birds. Gibraltar Point also has five bird hides from which you can view these birds.
The Bird Hides
I went in three of these hides, all very different and these are some of my pictures. these include Redshank, Bar-tailed Godwit, Little Grebe and Little Egret.
